homeland (formerly 36jar)

by Azure D. Osborne-Lee

Wide skirt
won't apologize for anything

What for?

Why should s/he?

Silence

Long silence rolls

(Why for?

Why wound s/he?)

--

Warm hands held

round
empty jar
poured out last of life

Wind whistling through middle

gap singing so loud

Long lost dreams of wife

And salt water

drip
drip
drip

(Hold tight)

Sigh

Breathe now

Don't call s/he name

Speak no sound words
no cough
no rattle
no more

--

Silence

Long silence rolls

Sweep away what s/he can

Wide skirt

and sorry for nothing

Once found

homeland

Day 11: Larry

was hanging out on the pedestrian bridge over the Willamette River when I saw him. He asked me if this was going to go on "Bald Guys Gone Wild". I let him know that, no, it won't (and that he is hilarious).

That's the Willamette behind us. Nice spot to hang out Larry!

Earlier today, I placed the magic postcard by the solar water fountain. I don't think that's what it's called, but that's what it looks like:
